About
Dorit Rubinstein Reiss is Professor of Law and the James Edgar Hervey '50 Chair of Litigation at UC Law San Francisco (formerly UC Hastings), where she teaches torts, administrative law, and public health regulation of vaccines. A leading national expert on vaccine law and policy, she writes about vaccine mandates and exemptions, tort liability for failing to vaccinate, vaccine injury compensation, and the administrative law of federal vaccine policy. She is co-author, with Y. Tony Yang, of Vaccine Law and Policy (Springer, 2023), and her scholarship has appeared in JAMA, the Journal of Law, Medicine & Ethics, the Cornell Journal of Law and Public Policy, and the University of Pennsylvania Journal of Constitutional Law. She writes regularly for the Skeptical Raptor blog and is frequently interviewed by CNN, NPR, The New York Times, and The Washington Post. Earlier in her career, she clerked at Israel's Ministry of Justice. She holds an LL.B. from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem and a Ph.D. in Jurisprudence and Social Policy from UC Berkeley.
