Texas CLE Requirements
The Basics
As an attorney in Texas, you are required to complete 15 hours of CLE credits every compliance year. A compliance year is a one-year period that begins on the first day of your birth month and ends one year later on the last day of the month that precedes your birth month. All credits must be reported by the end of the attorney's birth month. A maximum of 15 credits may be carried over to the next compliance period.
Yes you need “Legal Ethics” credits
Of the 15 credits required per compliance year, at least 3 hours must be legal ethics/legal professional responsibility. To find legal ethics/professional responsibility accredited courses, sort by "Ethics" on the Talks page when signed in to your account.
Reporting
Each attorney is responsible for timely reporting of their attendance information. Attorneys can self-report using the course IDs found on the "My Certificates" chart in their account.
