Independence With the DOJ
Traditional norms dictate that the Department of Justice and federal prosecutors exercise discretion independent of partisan politics and free from political interference. Professors Bruce Green and Rebecca Roiphe discuss the ethical duties and roles of the Attorney General and line prosecutors in preserving this independence and examine recent high-profile examples of the head of the DOJ at odds with line prosecutors in criminal prosecutions.
